Hi members, another month has quickly passed and Lyn and I have settled back into our routines following our trip out to the Hay River.
Those who ventured to warmer climates have returned to some lovely spring weather.
I’m writing this at the 120 hectare Black Cockatoo Bush camp located 15km north east of Naracoorte. It’s 25 degrees and we’re surrounded by green grass, sheep and 20 other ‘A’ vans (small vans with triangle tops). The site hosts, Liz and Ken are very friendly and willing to help and their approach is that they want their guests to be happy. We lacked a camp fire so Ken took the tractor and prepared 3 tonne of timber added 10 litres of diesel applied a gas torch and a camp fire was produced which has lasted several days.
We have flush toilets and hot showers with power 2hrs morning and evening for those without solar panels. I investigated a 4WD area and discovered a series of large mounds and ditches containing varying amounts of water and mud. I understand members have used this facility previously.
I’m currently preparing a schedule of guest speakers for the social evenings commencing 2016– pleased email any suggestions to me.
We thank Lisa Brock from Arthur J Gallagher for her presentation on 4WD Comprehensive Insurance, which covers vehicles anywhere in Australia.
