This is the final Catchat for 2019 and on behalf of the Management Committee I wish all Members a Safe and Happy Xmas and New Year.
I thank all members of Committees (particularly Naomi and Kevin Jolly) for their contributions. Naomi and Kevin are off to live in Queensland – they have given an enormous contribution to the Club (over many years) as Social Coordinator and MIG organiser- they will be missed.
We thank Brian Cosh, Steve Powell, Richard Lozowy and reserve Steve Broker for assisting BlazeAid by transporting equipment from Mallala to Edithburgh. We’ll be looking for volunteers to retrieve the gear in February 2020.
Our next Social meeting will be on the 28th January 2020 with no guest speaker – giving a chance for members to mingle and socialise.
We’ll soon be looking for volunteers for the Caravan and Camping Show, February 12 – 16, 2020 – please mark this event in your diary.
Early preparations are underway for the March AGM, if you are willing to join the Management Committee to help fill vacant positions please contact a Committee member.
At the last Social meeting, I made a brief reference to the introduction of a new technology (kinetic rope) to use in place of snatch/recovery straps – here is an article comparing the two. https://www.whichcar.com.au/gear/recovery/4×4-kinetic-recovery-ropes-benefits
The new owners of Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary, Narelle MacPherson and David Cobbold would benefit from our support, so we’re organising a Social meeting speaker and a Club trip. https://www.warrawongws.com.au/
If you require high quality repairs to a chimney, repointing, stone or masonry work call Ben 0419357376
I look forward to attending many trips and adventures in 2020 and meeting as many members as possible.
