President’s Report – February 2017

President’s Report – February 2017

i Feb 22nd No Comments by

Have just returned from the Caravan and Camping Show and we were the only 4WD Club present.  I was thrilled at the opportunity to chat with other 4wdrivers and to encourage some possible candidates as members. We offer thanks to Lance who organised the event and the many members who attended our stall.

New members – Don Eime with Chris 956, Heinz-Dieter Froehlingsdorf with Christine 957 and the rejoining of Tony Tamlin with Julia 278 – please make them all feel welcome.

Our 28th February Social meeting has taken a major change as the large downstairs room at the Sporting Car Club has been withdrawn and replaced by the smaller upstairs ‘red room’.  We’ve deferred our guest speaker and will concentrate on planning the upcoming AGM in March. If you have ideas regarding the operation of the Club or wish to join the Committee this would be an excellent meeting to attend.

At the AGM during the 28th March 2017 Social meeting all Committee positions will be called and a nomination for Life membership will be voted on. We do need some extra assistance to help Brian our Treasurer due to his work requirements and the committee is also looking for help in the Environment role.

Membership renewals have been due since January and need to be completed by the end of February with the annual fee of $80, BSB 035047 Account 255297 – please include your Mitsi number.

For those with some spare time and feeling energetic the Ngarkat “Border Track” Annual Working Bee will be conducted on March 25 & 26 – 2017.

Welcome back to those attending the Limestone coast trip I understand you had plenty of practice retrieving bogged vehicles.

The latest news from SAPOL  –

I look forward to meeting many members and wandering around the Clare Valley at the Polish Hill event -Wednesday 12th April to Wednesday 19th April 2017 (Easter Included).
