Winter is upon us and today was the first morning where I’ve had to douse the windscreen to clear the ice.
A number of committee members will be away during these colder months and I thank John O’Daly and Bob Bolto for volunteering to bolster the Committee numbers and also Steve Pearson for monitoring our emails and chairing most of the upcoming meetings.
We welcome new members Sue and Rick Irvine (945).

Lyn and I have just enjoyed another weekend away – this time to Mannum. There’s lots to see within the town with plenty of exercise walking up to the lookout. A hidden gem is Bolto Reserve on the eastern side of the Murray. Gain access from Adelaide via the ferry then turn right at the ‘T’ junction and continue past the shacks. At about 500 meters you’ll be greeted with well set out non-powered camping sites. This area is across the river from where the Proud Mary and other paddle steamers moor. The cost is $10 per night, which is paid into a coin machine near the well maintained brick toilets.
