Welcome to 2016 and a busy schedule of activities with the Club.

I’m pleased to introduce our newest member – Ray Wastell.

We’ve arranged a social meeting for the 26th January (it’s Australia Day) which will be a ‘Chatfest’ without any invited speaker. We’ll introduce topics to encourage experienced members to share their 4wd trip knowledge with the rest of us. Please come along with tips and ideas when :- packing the 4WD, storing and protecting food, ‘must take’ safety gear, the one thing that you forgot and then really missed, best electronic gizmo and keeping the kids entertained.

The Mechanical Interest Group Coordinators Kevin Jolly, Bob Willson, Michael Davis and Darrell Burr will conduct their first meeting on Tuesday 16th February at 1915hrs in the ‘Red Room’ at the Sporting Car Club of SA.  Darrell will introduce a new range of extended capacity fuel tanks and describe how he fitted one to his vehicle. All members are welcome with no booking required – bring a visitor. http://www.arb.com.au/frontier-long-range-fuel-tank/

Caravan and camping show volunteers are required for half day shifts from Wed 17th to Sun 21st February please contact Lance Boagey, if you can assist.

The Social evening on the 23rd Feb will involve guests from the RAA discussing Comprehensive Insurance and Premium membership benefits.

The Club’s 30th year celebration will occur from Fri 25th to Sun 27th November – more details to follow.

Here are the latest in road safety and road rule changes from SAPOL:-  https://www.police.sa.gov.au/services-and-events/community-programs/road-safety-education

Could we have a volunteer to do a brief report for Catchat  on the topics covered at the social meetings as it has come to my attention we have members who cannot attend all meetings, this would keep people up to date with what is happening.

I’m looking forward to an event filled 2016.
